About
Montgomery based artist, Emily Ernest, has been creating for many years. As a graduate in Graphic Design from Auburn University, she incorporates her design skills into her unique paintings. Utilizing a realistic technique, as well as her own personal abstract painting style, she has set herself apart from other painters. Her evolution into combining different techniques has allowed her to explore the full range of her talents, as she has always enjoyed both expressionistic and realistic styles. By combining the two, Emily has found a voice through painting that allows her to express herself and showcase the things that bring joy to her life. She is inspired by the beauty that is found in the natural world, and she also enjoys experimenting with bright colors and interesting compositions. Emily’s combination of realistic renderings and expressionistic marks allow her to explore what abstract art means to the viewer and herself. She enjoys studying art history, as well as contemporary artists in order to discover new painting techniques, and she is always searching for new ways to enhance her work. Her favorite artists include Albert Oehlen, Lien Truong, and Helen Frankenthaler.
